Penguin algorithm changes or get updated with
time to locate and disable spammers. Each release fine-tune the spam link
detection capabilities, thus in this regard the 4th update of the
Penguin is Live now in Google. It is the latest spam-fighting algorithm which
is nicknamed as Penguin 2.0.. In order to get a pretty good view of this brand
new generation algorithm, I visited several website and came to know that some
companies will be seeing the drop, as the recent release goes deeper and is
likely going to affect the ranking for around 2.3% of websites indexed.
Moreover, it also explores that after the
completion of the rollout which was started on May 22, 2013, 2.3% of English-US
queries are getting affected to the degree that can be easily noticed. The
changed was also rolled for the other languages worldwide which will experience
more impact. So this update is considered close to the magnitude.
The sequential updates of Penguin
· Penguin 1- launched on April 24, 2012 was declared to impact
approximately 3.1% of queries in English-US
·
Penguin 2- launched on May 26, 2012 was a data refresh that was
announced to impact less than 0.1% of the English searches.
· Penguin 3- launched on October 5, 2012 was also a data refresh
announced to affect approximately 0.3% of queries.
· Penguin 4- launched on May 22, 2013 impacted 2.3% of queries and
is referred as the next generation Penguin update.
Google declared it as Penguin 2.0
According to Matt Cutts, the head of Google’s webspam
department, after the first, the second and third still were data refreshes of
the same basic, but the fourth release is a major change, that goes deeper than
the original Penguin update. Thus, Google has mentioned it as Penguin 2.0
internally.
I think anyone who pays attention to SEO gets at least a little nervous when they know Google is prepping for another algorithm update. We've actually seen some positive effects and am rather pumped!
